![]() The only thing missing is Cube's sharp political commentary that marked his first three solo albums. I'm not quite sure if Cube will return to that posture. For example, with the onslaught of police brutality incidents taking place throughout the country, I was hoping to hear a song from Cube speaking to this scenario. I was also hoping to hear some stinging analysis of today's race relations. Imagine if Cube did a song that spoke to the upcoming presidential elections or the prison industrial complex? Cube seemed headed in that direction early on in his career and as a result a lot of people got hooked on him. It would've been nice to see him do some more interesting collaborations like Cube and Chuck D or Cube and KRS. This is not to take away from the album, but I think Cube hasn't begun to tap into all the talent he posses. During his Sonicnet interview he admitted that he has mellowed out over the years. One of the highlights of the album is a track featuring all the NWA members entitled 'Hello'. If this is any indication of what we can expect on the NWA Reunion album, then we are in for a huge treat. Cube also noted that he and Dr Dre are discussing the tour of tours. It would include, Snoop, MC Ren, Mack 10, DR Dre ,Eminem and other prominent West Coast artists. We'll keep you posted as that unfolds. |
